Otherwise if someone is ASE certified that would be willing to look at the motor for me and write me an RO just to get a new motor.Īny non-performance engine purchased from JDM Engine Depot includes a 90-day warranty starting on the date shown on invoice. I just want my car running and want a decent running engine! Let me know what options i have or your opinion. I dunno what to do and i'm becoming very angry. The following is the copy of their warranty and pictures of my motor. According to their warranty it states that the engine needs to be installed by an ASE certified technician but does not say anything about the parts such as oil pump, timing belts, and oil flush being done by an ASE tech. You have to understand that I am very frustrated with this and started to get irritated with them. They then said i needed to install the motor and they would cover it under the "start up" warranty. They are saying they received the pictures but need a work order from an ASE certified technician saying whats wrong with the motor. There is definately something wrong with the motor and i REFUSE to install this into my vehicle. If that were the case then all 4 cylinders should have covered. Apparently now they said that its from maybe the valves being open and the engine being moved around. I said how they hell would coolant get into the oil if there was nothing wrong with the car. I called them back and they proceeded to tell me there was nothing wrong with the engine. Ok so 5 hours have gone by and no answer from them. They told me they would get with their boss and contact me with in an hour. That its probably from the engine being pressure washed and being moved around. They then again proceeded to tell me there was nothing wrong with the motor. I didn't hear anything from them this morning so I called them and told them what I had found. I took pictures of everything and emailed them for an explaination and a new motor being sent to me. I took off the exhaust manifold and in Cylinder number 2 it was just caked with sludge/oil and coolant. ![]() I pulled the oil drain plug and it came out a milky substance. Underneith the valve cover there was a milky substance. I got the engine up on the engine stand and proceeded to pull off the valve cover. Ok so by this point I'm concerned and need to figure out if its just me or what the deal is. They proceeded to tell me that it was from the engine being moved around while pullin the transmission off and to install the engine into the car and make sure all the fluids are full. I call JDM Engine depot up the next day and told them about this issue. Anyways i got my motor in last week and started moving it and as soon as i started to pick it up off the pallet with my engine lift the back coolant hose (that runs behind the intake) started leaking out milky oil with antifreeze. I would assume paying $900 for all of this I would get a decent running motor. I paid $699 for the motor and $200 in shipping. I bought an H23a3 for my 96 prelude and know i have to change out some stuff.
